My main research interest concerns the relationship between athlete burnout and affective, cognitive, and psychophysiological processes in elite athletes and student-athletes. Specifically, I investigate how psychological variables (e.g., distress, resilience, motivational orientations), cognitive functioning, and physiological parameters interact across the competitive season and contribute to the development and maintenance of burnout symptoms.
In addition to my primary project on sport burnout, my research interests include:
• The psychological and cognitive effects of overtraining in elite athletes
• The relationship between exercise and body image
• The association between psychological well-being and physical activity across different contexts, including workplace settings
