I am interested in investigating how language use influences judgment and decision-making (JDM), along with the challenging interplay between two experimental paradigms: psycholinguistic and heuristic-and-biases approaches. Until now, my primary focus has been on JDM in bilingual contexts, exploring the Foreign language effect on the judgment of bullshit statements. Now, during my PhD studies, I aim to focus on another important lexical context â foreign-accented speech. My PhD research project aims to investigate whether presenting information in a foreign-accented speech could impact higher cognition, such as thinking, judgment and decision-making, and to explore the underlying mechanisms that could cause this effect.
