My research interests lie at the intersection of clinical psychology, cognitive development, and digital health innovation. I am particularly interested in how executive functions (EFs)—such as working memory, inhibitory control, and cognitive flexibility—interact with emotional regulation and self-management in chronic medical conditions, especially Type 1 Diabetes Mellitus (T1DM) in children.

My current doctoral project at the University of Padua (Department of Developmental and Social Psychology) focuses on exploring the relationship between executive functioning, psychological well-being, and glycemic control in children aged 7–12 years with T1DM. I aim to evaluate the feasibility and preliminary efficacy of a digital cognitive training program designed to strengthen EFs through adaptive exercises. The study combines neuropsychological assessments, psychological questionnaires, salivary cortisol sampling, and continuous glucose monitoring (CGM) data to analyze cognitive, emotional, and metabolic outcomes.

Beyond my PhD project, I have contributed to meta-research and qualitative study designs in psychotherapy and clinical psychology. My previous academic work:

My current collaborations include large-scale reviews on mindfulness-based programs and therapist–patient dynamics.

Methodologically, my approach blends quantitative analysis (e.g., experimental design, regression modeling) with qualitative inquiry (thematic analysis, phenomenological interpretation), as I believe rigorous science benefits from both empirical precision and explorative insight.

Outside academia, I am passionate about sports and music. I play Touch Rugby with a local team based in Padua (Scambio Lingue Padova: (https://www.scambiolinguepd.com/). I also play the piano and sing as personal hobbies.
