I am a PhD student in Psychological Sciences at the University of Padova, working within the Quantitative Psychology Laboratory. My research spans two main areas. The first concerns statistical cognition: I study how people without formal training understand and reason about statistical information, and I develop formal frameworks for investigating these processes.
The second, developed in collaboration with my supervisor, focuses on SNARC and SNARC-like effects (perceptual phenomena linking numbers to space) with a particular emphasis on applied design analysis (both prospective and retrospective) for generalized linear mixed models, conducted to ensure studies are adequately powered and transparently reported.
Within my laboratory, I also contribute to research on psychological measurement, including the validation of scales through Exploratory and Confirmatory Factor Analysis, and I investigate the conceptual and practical differences between Bayesian and frequentist approaches to statistical inference.
On the software side, I am helping to develop an R package aimed at improving statistical model visualization. Alongside my research, I am deepening my grounding in mathematical analysis and discrete mathematics.
